SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAM
Come and join the crowd! Stretching, cardiovascular exercise, increased flexibility, balance, and toning of muscles all done to toe tapping music of the golden oldies. The class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am. This program is $1.00 per class for Harbison Residents and $2.50 per class for all others.
SENIOR ACTIVITIES
Harbison offers a variety of programs for seniors. We have guest speakers, field trips, cookouts, health fairs, luncheons, and much more. Programs are scheduled on a month to month basis. Yoga Chair Stretch Class
Yoga/Stretch - Designed to help everyone including those with health issues such as diabetes, obesity, and arthritis. The movements are slow and controlled against a gentle resistance. It is effective for relaxation, health, and fitness. This class combines yoga and traditional stretches. This class is chair assisted for stability. Deep breathing exercises, stretching and mild Yoga poses.
PROGRAMS FOR TEENS - ADULTS
FUN ‘N’ FITNESS AEROBICS
For all levels of fitness and ability. Certified instructor. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights 6:30 – 7:30pm. Combination of step and floor aerobics.
Fee: $40.00 for 27 classes.
AKIDO
For ages 13 and up. Japanese art of self defense uses locks and throws to subdue opponents. Swords and sticks used to teach power and balance. Taught by Lamar Sanders, each four week session consists of eight classes. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday for 7:30pm to 9:30pm. Fees: $20 for students, $22 for adult beginners, and $24 for adult advanced students. Call 781-2281 for current session information.
KENPO
Taught by Keno Club of Columbia’s Chief instructor, Marcus Turner, this program meets on Mondays, Wednesday, and Saturdays. Information and registration details can be obtained by contacting Marcus Turner at 381-1653.
TAE KWON DO (for Children and Adults)
The art of hand and foot fighting. Students learn how to defend themselves using effective ground techniques such as Japanese Jujitsu and various self defense holds. Classes are offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and on Saturday mornings. BELLY DANCING
Class meets on Wednesday from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. For current session information, please call 781-2281.
SOUL LINE DANCING
Have fun getting fit with this low impact cardio workout while learning the hottest new soul line dances like the electric slide, cupid shuffle and many more. No partner needed for this beginners class. Wear comfortable shoes. No flip flops or open heeled footwear. Call 781-2281 for program information
SALSA DANCING
Looking for something different? Got rhythm or no rhythm? Two left feet or right feet? No problem! Come and learn this Latin inspired dance that mixes African and European influences to create what we know to be Salsa. If you have never danced salsa before, the beginner’s class is for you. Basic instructions take you through the dance step by step. Now if you have danced before and want to get back into it, the intermediate class may be for you. The intermediate class will focus more on partner work, as well as, individual styling. Salsa is a partner dance, but a partner is not required to take the class. Dress comfortably and where leather sole shoes. Ages 18-Adult. 5 Sessions $32R/$40NR.

AFTERNOON KARATE CLASS
Traditional Japanese Karate teaches youth ages 6 to 16 self assurance, balance, discipline, and emotional control. Class meets Monday and Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 5:00pm. Fee: $38.00 for 4 week session.
AFTER SCHOOL EXPERIENCE (A.S.E)
A.S.E. offers structured recreational and educational activities for grades 1 through 6. No kindergarten children will be accepted. Program hours are after school until 6:00 P.M. Encyclopedias and computer use are available during homework time. A special emphasis is placed on understanding and completion of homework. Children go swimming twice a week. We hire qualified instructors and background checks have been conducted on all staff. Our buses pick-up from Cross Roads Middle, Dutch Fork, Irmo, Harbison West, Leaphart, and Nursery Road Elementary Schools.

Fee : $50.00 per week includes pick-up. Discount for additional children.
Registration and Materials fee: $30.00 per school year
Only full-time children are accepted.
SUMMER DAY CAMP
Camp runs for 10 weeks – FULL TIME ONLY. 1 week vacation time given with no weekly fee. Participant ages are 6 to 12. 5 year olds entering 1st grade in Aug. are eligible. Grade levels are limited to 20 students only. Children are involved in: SPORTS, GAMES, TALENT SHOW, FIELD DAYS, ARTS & CRAFTS, SWIMMING 5 DAYS/WK., WEEKLY FIELD TRIPS, WEEKLY COOKOUTS, BRAIN QUEST AND DAILY READING.
Hours of operation: 7:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. daily.
